One Hundred Feet Under

One Hundred Feet Under
By Natalie Williams

Inspired by the true story of Harrison Okene, who spent three days trapped in a shipwreck on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. He lived to give God all the glory.

Hour after hour; every minute is a lifetime.
You aren't guaranteed tomorrow, and think you're running out of time.
How did you get here? It was simple circumstance,
But now you're 100 feet under, and you don't feel you have a chance.

I know it's not your fault, but you're down here all the same.
The overpowering pressure of the darkness is insane.
Have the voices started yet, screaming in your head?
They're telling you that hope is vain, and you're as good as dead.

You pray, and pray, and pray again, but still you see no change.
So then you start to doubt your faith, and maybe place the blame.
But know this: your cause isn't lost; your hope is not in vain!
For Jesus is your Savior, and there is power in His name.

When you are facing the toughest times in all of your memory,
Know that God sends us every test so it can be a testimony.
Keep praying, dear friend, for your redemption draws nigh.
Though you're 100 feet under, God still reigns on high.

He sees what you're facing; He knows what's at stake.
The enemy comes not but to kill, destroy, and take.
Oh please don't give in, don't let Satan get you down.
Though you're 100 feet under, God won't let you drown.

Remember that ours is a walk of victory, to triumph over circumstance.
We must claim God's promise for our lives; He holds us in His hands.
Relinquish to Him all control: He'll help you fight the fight.
When you're 100 feet under, give in to Jesus Christ.

“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”  —Psalm 23:4 (NIV)
