The 2020 primary election exemplified the Democratic party’s commitment to wokeness by presenting a plethora of diverse candidates. Identity politics played an instrumental role in the left’s choice of personalities tailored to represent the voters – not in policies, ideas, or moral values, but in skin color, gender, and sexual orientation.

The Dems proved once more that their agenda is so aligned with dismantling the systemic and institutionalized power structures that they elected a 78-year-old white man who, as a 45-year career politician, sponsored a crime bill that resulted in the mass incarceration of Black men and underprivileged youths.

Among the left’s candidates was one whose complex identity claimed to somehow speak for Christianity by directly defying the most fundamental tenets of the Bible. Mayor Pete Buttigieg, an Episcopalian from South Bend, Indiana and the front-and-center homosexual candidate, used his contradictory platform to attack Bible-believing Christians whom he referred to as the “Mike Pences of the world.”

Rolling Stone described Buttigieg’s brand of Progressive Christianity: “He has argued that being married to his husband brings him closer to God; that one’s views of abortion should not be used by the religious right as a litmus test for one’s faith when it’s an issue that Jesus never even mentioned (though he did speak abundantly on charity and hospitality); and that the so-called “clobber” verses used to condemn homosexuality were cultural, along with so many other pronouncements the Bible makes that Christianity now disregards.” The article went on to explain that there was more than just the “right-wing interpretation” of the Bible.

Although Mayor Pete’s arguments for celebrating both his faith and his sinful lifestyle were about as convincing as his qualifications for becoming the president of the United States, he nevertheless ushered in casual open attacks on American Christians who believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God.

Fast forward to February 2021. The United States Congress passes the Equality Act, expanding civil rights for LGBTQ people. Cloaked in the guise of a non-discrimination bill, it is a powerful government overreach punishing American citizens, institutions, education systems, businesses, and religious communities who do not subscribe to Judith Butler’s pseudo-academia teaching gender as a mere construct and gender-normative privileges as dangerous.

In other words, those whose biological gender matches whatever is in their head are guilty of violence and aggression toward those whose gender is ever changing.

The left’s once philosophical declaration of moral relativism, you live your truth and I’ll live mine, has now evolved into a monstrous moral mandate that flaunts absolutism. To stand firm on your faith in opposition to the sexual and gender destruction within our society is no longer covered under pluralism and democracy. It is now considered a threat to the new moral paradigm.

Per the usual totalitarian characteristics of a one-state culture, the ideological launch always follows the trajectory of one guy’s self-absorbed perspective set ablaze by groups of disillusioned radicals. Such is the case with postmodernism’s icon Michele Foucault’s philosophies on governmentality and “regimes of truth.”

According to Foucault, truth is a mere byproduct of power structures, constructed for the purpose of controlling populations. The party that can get their hands on the narrative of truth can simply reconstruct its essentialities until they have shifted the norms of society. The pseudo-truth then functions to regulate the behavior and conduct of groups rather than the individual citizens.

The root of our current moral upheaval is the belief that moral authority is a vacuum of power. This belief exists only as a tool to maintain the power of man. The Word of God clearly challenges these ideas and warns that sin cannot be reorganized into new, socially acceptable categories – nor can hashtag trends “normalize” unrighteousness into a justifiable lifestyle.

Galatians 6:7-8 says: “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.”

And yet, while the Scriptures have transcended place and time, there are spiritual teachers that have embraced false doctrines; furthermore, they have encouraged believers to deny Christ as they embrace living in a place of a pop-cultured counterfeit morality.

The mission of Progressive Christianity is to appease the hegemony of the culture – whether righteous or unrighteous – as stated in “The 8 Points of Progressive Christianity.” The grace of God is used as a misnomer for the sinful violations being promoted as justice.

Jude verses 3-4 says: “Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. For certain individuals, whose condemnation was written about long ago, have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality, and deny Jesus Christ, our only Sovereign and Lord.”

Ephesians 5:11 tells us to “take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.” How do we expose the pseudo-morality of our age? How do we exert the influence of God’s laws that (on the surface) contradict the “good” behaviors of our neighbors?

By teaching and preaching Eternity. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). If we follow Progressive Christianity to its logical end, the inevitable result is death. Whether in the termination of the unborn, the castration of transgender people, or the marriage of homosexual couples, the end goal is the destruction of human reproduction and the plan for the family as God created it.

By exposing the lies and speaking The Truth that leads people to repentance, deliverance, and eternal life. “For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death” 2 Corinthians 7:10.

The preachers, teachers, and moral pundits that prance around condoning spirits of darkness while condemning those that refuse to deny, modify, or compromise the Word of God are not fighting for social justice, but for sinful justice.

“Forever, O Lord, Your Word is settled in heaven” (Psalm 119:89).

Christians must stand firm and confront the attack with The Truth of God’s unchanging Word.
