God made scars

From all my open wounds.

And wounds that are still open,

He will heal them soon.

Because I trust that a Savior,

Who could have healed His own scars,

Simply left them on Himself to show

What He could do with ours.

The world wants us wounded,

But Jesus wants us healed.

Our scars: a great reminder

Of the love that He has sealed.

To the drug addict, the alcoholic,

The lonely and the lost,

For 50 years we’ve preached Jesus

And His death upon the cross.

To the prideful, and the unlovely,

To the heartbroken and betrayed.

The world wants us wounded,

But there is healing in Jesus’ Name.
