  • Why is it foolish to trust in idols or false gods?

  •  How can we know God is real?

  •  What are some things we might trust in besides God?

5th GRADE

LESSON: THE TRIUMPHAL ENTRY (Matthew 21:1-17)

MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path.”

This week we put our Bible study skills to work studying Matthew 21:1-17.

  • What did it mean when the people were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David!”?

  • How is God’s covenant with David fulfilled in Jesus?

  • What are the three things that Jesus said or showed us should be the characteristics of His Father’s house? (prayer, healing and praise)

6th GRADE

LESSON 3: THE MIRACLES OF JESUS (THE GOSPELS)

MEMORY VERSE: John 1:1-2
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.

FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS

  • Can you relate to the leper? When is a time that you have felt unclean and yet sensed the touch of Jesus?

  • What is the danger in seeking Jesus because of what we think He might be able to do for us?

  • What are some ways we as Christians fall short of living under Jesus’ authority and can merely be impressed with His teaching?
