KINDER - 4th GRADE

LESSON 4: JESUS GAVE THE GREAT COMMISION (Matthew 28:16-20)

MEMORY VERSE: Luke 24:6-7 “He is not here; he has risen!  Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’”

  • What does it mean to “make disciples”?

  • Why do you think Jesus wants disciples from every nation?

  • Why do you think Jesus wanted the disciples to baptize new disciples?

5th GRADE

LESSON 15: BIBLE TIME PERIOD - CHURCH AGE

MEMORY VERSE: Matthew 28:19

“‘Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS

In class we explored how God caused the Gospel to extend to the Gentiles in the Early Church.  The Gospel continues to spread around the world now in the time that we live called the Church Age.

  • Why is the gospel truly Good News?

  • How did the gospel break down division between people?

  • Can you recall other gentiles named in the Bible before who put their faith in God before Jesus came?

6th GRADE

UNIT 3 - LESSON 4: HOW DID LIFE BEGIN

MEMORY VERSE: Colossians 1:16-17 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS

This week, we explored what God’s Word tells us about the beginning of life.  Read Genesis 1 and Genesis 2:15–23. Answer the following questions.

  • What do these chapters tell us about the beginning of life?

  • What are some of the things that made God’s creation of humans different from any other part of His creation? (Try to find at least two things.)

As a family, spend time thanking God for creating life. Ask Him for opportunities to share the good news of Jesus with others who do not believe that God is their Creator.

7TH & 8TH GRADE

LESSON 5: GOD GIVES SOLOMON WISDOM (1 KINGS)

MEMORY VERSE: 1 Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS

  • What are some ways you can begin to think of the needs of others before your own?

  • How will humility within us serve others?

  • Do you value wisdom above things like money, power, or pleasure?  Why or why not?
